Never make a man your priority, when you're only his OPTION

Hey ladies and gents. It's ya girl Untouched Jewel in the building.

Well, first I wanna say Happy New Year to all my readers, and hope y'all didn't get too drunk on New Years Eve. lol.

Now that I got all the formalities out the way, today's post is for the ladies. That's right, I'm sending this one to all my female readers out there who may be dealing with a sorry ass man who could give a rat's ass about her well-being, got baby mama drama, tryin to be the black Hugh Hefner, or all of the above.

Steve Harvey made a statement in his latest book that struck a chord with me (and not in a bad way, though). He said this: "Never make a man your priority when you are only his option". Okay ladies, that's some powerful words coming from a man. Now when you hear another man say that, that's when your whole outlook would have to change about how they see you.

Ladies, I made a humongous mistake by making a man (or should I say a mama's boy turned beat and skeet donor) my priority and I wasn't even an option to him. I gave a fool far more credit than he deserved, and it got me heartbroken.

Now, I'm tryin to move on to bigger and much better things, since this is indeed a new year. Life is far too short to waste any time on a person who is toxic in your life. Sure, everybody is deserving of love, but at what cost does it come when you're the victim of a man's faithless ways? Like the movie title and Jennifer Lopez's song "Love Don't Cost A Thing", it really shouldn't. So why does it cause so much heart break, anger and depression? Why does it cause sleepless nights, restless days, and stressful lives? Answer: WE LADIES PUT FAR TOO MUCH EMPHASIS ON FOOLS, AND NOT REAL MEN. IF WE STOP LOOKING AT HIS PHYSIQUE, BANK ACCOUNT AND WHAT HE CAN DO FOR ME, THERE WOULD BE A LOT LESS OF US GETTING HURT.

Ladies, we need to get our act together. We scream about we want a good man, but are so sidetracked by the glitz and glamour, that we can't be an ounce of good to ourselves first. Now when we do get a man, it doesn't hurt to let him take the lead. But at the same time, we as women need to have our own shit together.

So ladies, this is a new year to start from scratch and regroup. Just make sure you have options, and not put all of your eggs in one basket unless that person is worthy of the hassle.

Until next post,
Peace & Blessings,
Untouched Jewel
