My response to Aunt Jemima's Revenge post about Madea

Hello ladies and gents. I was looking at the comments on the blog of Aunt Jemima's Revenge about Madea. And I must say that it is quite disturbing to know that our very own have the nerve to hate on a man whom is doing nothing more than showing us reality, and the things that go on in reality.

Of course, I had to put my two cents in by sending a comment, but if I'm correct, most likely Aunt Jemima didn't approve it to post on her comments section. So, I will show y'all what I wrote:

"I see what everybody is saying in regard to him dressing like a woman in his plays. But I honestly believe everyone is TOTALLY missing the basis behind these plays: THE MESSAGE. If any of you would take the time to watch the movie and see the message that's being sent across, you wouldn't be saying what you are saying. Everybody is so caught up in him acting a fool (aka "buffoonery" to most), but you let the message go over your head and you miss EVERYTHING that was needed to be said in the play or movie.
The problem is everybody is minding everybody's business, and not attending to your own. Don't hate this man, because he used a character inspired by his mother and aunts, to get ahead. If you were busy finding a way to make a living and become wealthy, you wouldn't be sitting here talking down about him. Here's a better idea: since there is so much to be said about what he's doing, how about address HIM with what you are saying instead of addressing it to the masses."

Now to Aunt Jemima: how can you (as well as the rest of the "bourgeois" population) criticize this man, when the title of your of your blog is what?..... AUNT JEMIMA'S REVENGE. That alone is buffoonery at its finest. You are using an icon of slavery and what white people have thought of us for centuries, but talk about a man dressed up like how I'm sure your grandmother or aunt, or close relative of your family that you may have been raised by at some point in your life. How ridiculous is that? Who are you to snub your nose at a man whom is just like the rest of the world, whom is making movies, plays and television and showing us what we all have been seeing for years?

House of Payne is the #1 tv show in its time slot for primetime cable television. His movies have all gone #1 on box office weekend, and the people that count the numbers for gross of sales and figures for opening movies at theatres wonder how he does it every time. It's that simple: GOD makes it all possible. This man went from growing up in New Orleans, homeless and living out of his car, to becoming a self-made multi-millionaire. Tell me when it comes to dollars and sense, who can argue with that? You can call it buffoonery all you want, but trust and believe he be better off being rich, than standing out on some street corner begging you for a dollar.

What's amazing to me is how people can take the time out to be disgusted with energy about what Tyler Perry is doing, but can never take the time out to do what it is in their lives to make an improvement and work on themselves. How I see it is you and the "bourgoeis" population are doing nothing more or less than hating, and it needs to stop. I don't see you picketing on some white person wearing black-face costume whose making fun of you, because of the color of your skin. If you want attack anybody, attack them all. But by all means, don't attack what I'm sure you at some point in your life was raised by. And what really chaps my hide about our own is how many of us were all but 5 minutes out the ghetto, and wanna act like we are all but who we are. Stop faking the funk! I know you want to get to where you are going, but for once in your life, never forget where you came from. It's those humble beginnings (hood or not) that make you who you are.

And if Tyler Perry reads this, I hope he knows that he's got one proud supporter who watches his shows, sees his movies (via theatre or DVD), and absolutely loves his plays. He's done wonderful work, and God is blessing him for all he's doing and continuing to do. Hey, they talked about Jesus...what could be worse?!

I'm gonna be honest and say that I'm not a fan of Tyler Perry per se. I just never understood the hype around his plays back in the day. Ok lemme rephrase that: I understood the hype because it was something new, but I wasn't feelin the idea of going to a play with a female with the hopes of trynna get sum booty afterwards. Nah not that shit!

LOL

Ain;t no way a woman was gonna give it up after watching one of his joints. In spite of all of that, I have a lot of respect for his hustle and what he does. Sure I think some of the characters are ubnrealistic and fantasy like, but hey, he's still doing his thing.

I think if there were more Black folks doing it like him there would be less scrutiny of his work. But you know how it goes...

Negroes ain't never happy...

Ha!
