The Death of Osama Bin Laden: My Thoughts

Hey ladies and gents, it's ya girl Untouched Jewel in the buildin'!

I'm sitting here in a state of shock that on the heels of May Day (aka Amnesty Day), news come swiftly that Osama Bin Laden is officially dead. Yeah, I'm still wrapping my head around that one myself. Honestly, I didn't think this day would ever come this soon, but with the swift and wonderful work of our Navy SEALS, I guess you can say justice was served.

Here's my opinion about the whole thing: yes, Osama is dead. It's a good thing, yet it's not. I say that, because even though he's no longer alive, in a sense it's like calling it even for the lives he's taken. I say it isn't, because with those lives lost on 9/11, it unfortunately doesn't bring back the loved ones who lost sons, daughters, fathers, mothers, sisters, brothers, etc. No matter how much we as citizens around the country can celebrate, there are still those who've lost are still hurting and cannot fill the void of that person/people whom died on 9/11. I saw alot of my friends cheering on Facebook and happy that Osama was killed. My emotions were definitely mixed on it. They still are.

I mean this is such a surreal, jaw dropping, unspeakable event in American history. What seems so eery to me is that this news comes 66 years after the death of Adolf Hitler (May 1, 1945), and less than six months from the 10 year anniversary of September 11, 2001. Again, I don't want to get all super religious or super "churchy", but in all honesty, what our country is doing is getting involved in a spiritual war. What America fails to realize is that the people in the middle east have been fighting since the bible days, and trust me that's a really long time. Their fighting has been never-ending. But one thing is for certain, the death of Osama speaks volumes not only with Al Qaida, but with everyone either fighting in the name of Allah, or combating terrorism.

Ladies and gents, let us stop and take the time to really see things for what they are. Sure this is a celebration for Americans everywhere. Let's not forget that just because Osama Bin Laden is dead, doesn't mean there isn't a second or third or fourth in command somewhere rallying more of these evil troops of Al Qaida or Taliban getting ready to strike again, but doing far more damage (God forbid). We as Americans gotta do like hustlas or gangstas on the streets: just because we took out the top dawg of the nemesis don't mean we can still can breathe easy. Our nemesis can still come back to get us again. Just be on our P's and Q's America...I'm just sayin!

To President Obama: You said in your campaign back in 2008 while running for president you would do whatever it takes to make sure Osama would be caught. It happened. You did something that President Bush couldn't do, because it's quite simple: with the greed between his family and that of Osama's, that would cut off his cash cow of the oil industry. I know this sounds juvenile, but this is definitely the big middle finger to all Republicans who have dogged you out and even went as far as to force your hand to show you were a natural born citizen in America. I wouldn't blame you if you were to give them the middle finger. I would be somewhere on the ground crying laughing hysterically. But this event in history is one you can add to your list of credits as a president. Tonight, you made me prouder of you than the day you were elected president (and I was absolutely proud).

To the troops: GOD BLESS YOU GUYS! I do give my condolences to the troops whom lost their lives in the war against terrorism. Each of you have done a great job, and hope that you can come home to your families.

Ladies and gents, let's be mindful of the citizens whom are displaced or deceased in Afghanistan. And also be mindful of how we react to the death of Osama Bin Laden. Not every tragedy is considered a victory.

Until Next Post,
Peace & Blessings,
Untouched Jewel
