Gotta love Chitown/Happy Birthday to me!

Hey ladies and gents. It's ya girl Untouched Jewel in the buildin'!

Yes indeed folks, I went to Chicago (aka Chitown) and man...IT WAS AWESOME! I loved everything about this place. Almost made ya girl wanna stay and not come back. Mind you I live in California, so imagine having to pack up and move abruptly with no forewarning...*Aunt Esther side eye at myself* Anywho, I took plenty of pictures, and here are some of what I took. Check it out...

Sears Tower

Navy Pier

Ebony/Jet Building

John Hancock Building

The L Train (downtown)

The Chicago Skyline

Buckingham Fountain (Grant Park) aka the fountain on Married With Children

Don't adjust ya vision, these are pics I took with my trusty Kodak camera. I got to attend the Taste of Chicago, and they have some of the best food there. Mmmmmm....*rubs my stomach* I got to see and somewhat experience bits of the hood on the Southside, but it wasn't anything any different than what I've seen in the hood here in Cali. Only difference is that their properties have basements, and they aren't fenced off and guarded like the homes in Cali. The people there are pretty hospitable, and some are rude as all hell, but that happens in any city...somewhat. LOL.

All I know is the lakefront....ohhhhhhh the lakefront....is absolutely BEAUTIFUL. Just being able to overlook Lake Michigan had me sold. If there was any other place I would like to live would definitely be Chicago. It beats shaking in Cali any day. LOL.

One thing I hated to do was leave Chicago on my birthday and having to come back home to Cali. Yes, the day I left I turned 31. I was happy for turning another year older, but sad that the one place I had dreamed of visiting I had to leave behind me. I dunno if it was the sheer fascination of going there or just being anywhere outside of California for a long time (hittin Vegas--which technically is in another state, doesn't count lol)...who knows.

After this trip has given me the idea to travel around more, but I do need to get my funds right in order for me to do that more often and with my children & show them there is more to life than being confined in the state they live in. But overall, this was the trip of a lifetime, and I plan to go back again.

Until Next Post,
Peace & Blessings,
Untouched Jewel
