New Year, New Beginnings

Heeeeeeeeeyyyyyyyyyy ladies and gents, it's ya little lady Untouched Jewel....IN THE BUILDIN! I would first like to start my greetings and salutations by saying HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYBODY!

I know I'm a month late for this, but hey....at least I did remember! LOL.

Ok, so the past month didn't start off so well in this new year, but it did end on a good note that much I will say. So a friend of mine who works with the Post Office put up on his post that USPS is hiring right now. And with me lookin for work, I immediately hopped on it. I went to their website and applied. Now I won't even lie to y'all it took me 2 hours to fill out that damn application. CTHU. I had to come up with 7-10 years of employment history (without any gaps mind you). I had enough gaps in my employment history where I was off again/on again with work in the last 10 years. Anywho, so after I applied I had to take an online assessment....step 1. After the assessment, I had to schedule to take the proctored test....step 2. I took the proctored test, AND PASSED BABY! Yes I did. So after I had passed, I got called for an interview...it went well....passed the drug test as well....step 3. Then yesterday, to finalize step 4, I got fingerprinted & made myself official. I am officially a United States Postal Service worker. But get this: take a stab at the position I'll be doing? *snickers*

Yep, a mail carrier. HAHAHAHA! But bet ya last dollar I'll be cute & employed. Lol. But who woulda thought I would be starting with the Post Office? THE POST OFFICE! And it's funny, because almost 30 yrs ago my mother was working for them as a processing mail clerk. Now here I am working for them. I honestly never saw having a career with the government, but hey....stranger things have happened. So here I am at 32 starting with the Post Office.

Anywho, looks like my 2013 may be off to a great start. It was bumpy, no lie. I made it through 2012 into this new year, and I soooooo hope it ends with a bang. But in case anything comes up, I will make sure I am well prepared for what happens along the way and continue to (try to) keep a level head in the process.

So here's to a New Year and New Beginnings! I hope everyone's year is starting out wonderful. I know mine is.....
